Säby Ö, att vi inte blåste bort!

Vilken fantastiskt vacker plats. Jag hade aldrig tidigare besökt Säby Ö, men det var verkligen en upplevelse. Och det gav extra dramatik åt denna redan så dramatiska plats, att det blåste så vi nästan blåste bort. Sjalen blåste ner från huvet, glasögonen satt nästan löst, och hade vi inte varit två bastanta gummor, utan varit lite mera skinntorra så hade vi flaxat i väg vi också! 😂

Vägarna var översvämmade på flera ställen så det blev en hel del klättrande i berg också. Skam den som ger sig. Nu hade vi ju bestämt att vi skulle ut till Säby Ö.
Vägen var översvämmad på flera ställen innan vi var framme. På ett riktigt knepigt ställe fick vi lägga oss på marken och rulla/krypa under taggtråden… Det fanns flera husgrunder och andra lämningar efter bebyggelse. Under sillperioden 1748-1809 bodde här massor av folk och det fanns sex trankokerier och ett sillsalteri på ön. En övervuxen stuga, nergrävd i backen, så kan en bostad ha sett ut, ofattbart hur folk levde och bodde. Efter sillen försvunnit avfolkades ön, men snart flyttade fattiga fiskare och strandsittare ut hit igen, 12 familjer var fastboende här under mitten av 1800-talet. Sista bilden här är suddig men jag ville ändå ha med den. Inne i stenstugan bodde en hel familj på 1800-talet, med sex barn. Jag gissar att den var 2 x 3 meter inuti. En öppen eldstad, inte ens en s k ”gruva” hade de, den syns mitt i bilden men det ligger stora svarta plastrullar av något slag i den. En påminnelse till oss om hur bra vi har det och hur privilegierade vi är här i Norden nu i vår tid.
Det blåste rejält uppe på berget ovanför stenstugan, kan man säga, utan att överdriva! Sen blev det lite farligt tyckte jag, som lider av en lindrig koskräck. Hela koflocken kom och ställde sig på den vägen som vi skulle gå tillbaka. Det blev en kringgående rörelse i berg och sankmarker igen… Jag var väldigt trött i benen efter denna vandring som inte var mer än ca 6 km lång, men som tagit oss 3,5 timmar 😮 Med fikapaus och fotande, men ändå.
